Hey speedpainters !
IMPORTANT CHANGES PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS MONTHS POST.
Well, we're in for a treat this month! While going over possible suggestions to put in the poll, an idea was born....
Screen capture studies!
What are screencaps you may ask....Well, they are still pictures captured from movies or movie stills if you may. Hollywood pays a lot of people a bunch of money to come up with the best HD quality, lighting and composition in each and every scene of each and every movie. So, why not pull our studies from there this month?
We are well aware that even though we all share a passion for painting, our tastes of what we enjoy painting may vary. Some may like realistic, others may prefer manga and then again, there may be a few that are passionate about science fiction and/or fantacy art.
Hence.... no poll this month. In replacement, Wolkenfels has generously supplied an awesome gallery of screencap references for us to choose from! By clicking on the link below, you will will be led to WolkenfelsArtRefLinks. Within, you can then choose from a library of 31 of the best Movie Stills sites available.artrefs.net/discover.php/all/s…
If for some reason one of the links doesn't work, just move on to the next.....as mentioned... There is definitely something here to meet every interest here!
Here's Da Rules
Same rules as always. 2 hour time limit! No tracing! No color picking from the original ref! Figure out your own colors. Make sure you include credit and links where you got your stock photo in the DA description.
In this case, the stock provider will not need to be informed, but Wolkenfels should get one hug per post
However for study reasons referencing to the original source is better for getting crits.
When your done submit it to this folder here: speedpaintstudies.deviantart.c…
Also say a few words on your study in the description. Helps others when commenting on your work. Its always good to take a moment and reflect on your studies so you can better tackle and improve on those areas in the next study.
Common things to answer are:
►What did you learn from doing this study?
►What did you find difficult?
►What area's do you wish to improve on?
As always, if you're participating in these studies, it's highly encouraged to comment on other peoples studies when they get submitted to the group. Sharing advice crits and tips will help each other grow!
That's it! Best of luck this month! We are looking forward to seeing each others studies!
