Important things first:
The whole team wishes you a Happy 2015.
Stay healthy and never lose the fun in painting!
And now to a challenging and hopefully educational year of Speedpaint Studies.
As we were all a bit distracted by new year festivities we decided to go all dictator on you and don't have a poll for the january topic but just choose one instead.
I think it is a first we choose only pictures of one stock artist, but Charfade made so awesome animal pictures recently and it is great material to learn from. It is quite diverse with long hair, short hair, reptile and elephant hide and even feathers and there are a lot of subtle colors to find in it too.
Here's Da Rules
Same rules as always. 2 hour time limit! No tracing! No color picking from the original ref! Figure out your own colors. Make sure you include credit and links where you got your stock photo in the DA description. Not only do most stock provider want to be informed if there pictures are used, but for study reasons referencing to the original source is better for getting crits.
When your done submit it to this folder here: speedpaintstudies.deviantart.c…
Also say a few words on your study in the description. Helps others when commenting on your work. Its always good to take a moment and reflect on your studies so you can better tackle and improve on those areas in the next study.
Common things to answer are:
►What did you learn from doing this study?
►What did you find difficult?
►What area's do you wish to improve on?
As always, if you're participating in these studies, it's highly encouraged to comment on other peoples studies when they get submitted to the group. Sharing advice crits and tips will help each other grow!
That's it! Best of luck this month! We are looking forward to seeing each others studies!
