Hey all!
It's already the 15th which means new topic for the group. I had no hope but at the very last moment Food was on par with Every day life stuff. In a perfectly authoritarian style I pick Food theme and yes, it's unfair
That being said, don't overlook the benefits of this topic. It may look simple but there is a ton to learn about values, light and colors by painting an onion. I've more or less placed them by difficulty. Make this food appetizing!
Here is the month selection:

Here's Da Rules
Same rules as always. 2 hour time limit! No tracing! No color picking from the original ref! Figure out your own colors. Make sure you include credit and links where you got your stock photo in the DA description. Not only do most stock provider want to be informed if there pictures are used, but for study reasons referencing to the original source is better for getting crits.
When your done submit it to this folder here: speedpaintstudies.deviantart.c…
Also say a few words on your study in the description. Helps others when commenting on your work. Its always good to take a moment and reflect on your studies so you can better tackle and improve on those areas in the next study.
Common things to answer are:
►What did you learn from doing this study?
►What did you find difficult?
►What area's do you wish to improve on?
As always, if you're participating in these studies, it's highly encouraged to comment on other peoples studies when they get submitted to the group. Sharing advice crits and tips will help each other grow!
That's it! Best of luck this month! We are looking forward to seeing each others studies!

Rock and Cave Challenge 2016
Hey speedpainters!
Rocks and caves - that means volume and texture. Sometimes it is a good idea to use the lasso tool to get the crisp edges in this. Be creative and experimental and good luck with this challenge.

December 2015 Challenge - Armors and Metal Studies
Hey speedpainters!
Before we begin, we wish you Happy Holidays! :D And my apologies for being slightly late. This month got best of me!
Anyway, this study, armors and metal, will be a simple one for a change. Just choose one (or more, we won't stop you ;)) and be sure to do it within two hours. The focus here is, to understand how the contrast and the reflection work here. The texture and object will vary so feel free to choose one that might be "easy" for you, but I highly encourage you to challenge yourself! Don't forget, though, to have fun and don't stress yourself out. Nobody is perfect. We only get better by practicing! So, what
